Miriam Adams was the manager and later co-owner of Richardson's Flowers & Gifts. The family business was started by her mother & father, Margaret Pennington Magness Richardson and Charles R. Richardson on their home property in Bel Air in 1945. Miriam sold the property in 2001. Additional family members involved in the business was husband, Tom Adams; Brother Henry & his wife, JoAnn; Miriam's daughter Marilyn & her husband Kevin Bradley.
